Clay is a versatile and amenable material, which can be a very effective means of helping to nurture manual skills and fine motor skills, awaken artistic sensibilities and promote wellbeing through social interaction.
I am an experienced practitioner in teaching ceramics to all age groups, through one off ceramics arts projects with a specific brief, or as a regular ongoing pottery class. I am enthralled with the craft of clay and its amazing qualities, and love to teach and learn as I teach.
I have worked in many different educational settings from nursery through to secondary school, working with children of all abilities. Since 2005 I have run a pottery club as an after school activity at the Kentish Town City Farm and currently run after schools pottery classes at three Camden primary schools.
I have regularly coordinated family and adult learning sessions, and developed intergenerational arts projects and sessions specifically adapted to working with older adults. Over the last few years I have developed ceramic installation projects, exhibitions and run clay workshops in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I have an up to date enhanced DBS certificate and public liability insurance.
