Floral hexagonal tiles made by pressing plants and flowers from the school gardens on to clay.
The project involved 300 children from all age groups (4-11 years old) and was conducted over a series of practical making and glazing workshops held at the school. The finished tiles were framed and installed on the school playground walls.
The tessellation of the individual hexagonal tiles combining to form larger hexagon shapes echoes honey comb bee hive structures. The nature of the project itself was about working collectively to produce a piece of art for the school.
