A ceramic tile panel exploring the rich and varied flora of the coastal Atlantic forests that surround Teresópolis (Rio de Janeiro – Brazil.)
The project was coordinated as a set of workshops in partnership with students from a local state school – Colégio Estadual Euclydes da cunha and SESC (Serviço Social do Comércio).
Students, aged between 16 and 17 were shown how to create ceramic tiles from pressing plants, leaves and flowers in to clay. Ceramic glazes were used to accentuate the details of the prints.
The finished tiles were then arranged and installed in the gardens of SESC – Teresópolis.
